Via Splashlife.com: Miguel Jontel Pimentel, 25, an American singer and songwriter, has toured with Usher and Mary J. Blige and is known for incorporating rock, R&B, hip-hop, and electronic elements into his music. The artist began his musical life by singing Michael Jackson tunes in his house at the age of 5. But he realized when he first began writing songs that he wanted to take his passion for music in a different direction. So he linked up with Mark Pitts, the president of Jive, after Pitts heard a record that Miguel had privately made for his girlfriend at the time. Miguel’s eclectic blend of music is influenced by artists like Lenny Kravitz, Prince, Stevie Wonder, and Francis and The Lights — primarily because these artists stepped out of the box, he says. Having collaborated with many artists in the past, Miguel is the most excited about singer and producer Usher. “Usher is like a brother to me — very talented and motivating,” Miguel says. When asked what impact he wants his music to have on his listeners, Miguel reveals that he wants his listeners to “leave this earth and dream beyond what they thought before.” So take a listen and see where your trip takes you.
